It’s Been too Long….

I have no idea what to say after such a long absence… so I suppose I’ll just catch up in picture memories.

1. I spent the summer here.

With one of my best friends since 3rd grade as my partner in crime:

There was a little gathering of three of my favorite people one of my last weekends in the city…

It made my heart so happy.

2. Right after I got home, I hopped on another plane to Taiwan for a family reunion to celebrate this sweet guy’s big 9-0.

To celebrate, we took a big trip to China to see the avatar-inspired mountains and spend some good ole quality time together in a big Chen family tour bus.

My big sissy joined in on the fun in Taiwan just before I had to leave to come back to Gainesville and start big girl school…

3. I turned 21…

And now I’ve just been running around like a crazy woman trying to keep it all together, and making big girl plans for my future. [EEK!]

The weather just got semi cooler here today, and it is making me so so excited for the fall! Yay for pumpkin flavored EVERYTHING! And snuggling. Oh le sighhh

It’s good to be back. I super duper promise I’ll be back with more soon! J.

Foodie Heaven

The one amazing thing I’ve learned about being in New York is that you will never be dissatisfied with a meal here. Despite the fact that I can no longer live by my $6 a day budget as I could in Gainesville, the quality of food makes the steeper prices definitely worth it.

Here’s some proof:

Potato Polenta Gnocchi from Mario Batali's Eataly

Margherita Mac and Cheese from MacBar in Soho-- the larger sizes come in this adorable macaroni shaped take-home container!

French toast at Grey Dog's Cafe for Sunday Brunch!

Sweet Summertime in the NYC

Ohh New York. My earliest (and probably only) memory of New York consists of dirty streets, cold flurries, and basically all of Flushing Chinatown. This summer, hopefully I can put those memories to rest, as I will be spending exactly two months in the big cement jungle making my career dreams attempt to come to life as I intern at a huge “magical” multi billion dollar retail corporation. I intend on tasting, seeing, and shopping everything that this big apple has to offer!

This past weekend, I was able to take a more “cultural” tour of the areas just outside of the city– Wave Hill Garden and the Cloisters museum.

Even though I haven’t even been in the city for long, I can already tell that these are prime getaway places for those just looking to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Wave Hill Garden, home to some super gorgeous gardens and the largest poppies I’ve ever seen– seems like a prime place for a w-e-d-d-i-n-gggg!!!

My cute mommy at the Cloisters museum!
